Get Involved

Every year we post a little list of items that would make our lives so much better. As you are out doing shopping please watch for spectacular sales, great thrift store finds, craigslist deals or even your neighbors' castoffs. We accept anything that is functional and in the long-term will keep us running efficiently.

Internships and Volunteering

We welcome those interested in learning about and contributing to Spanish immersion education through dedicating their time at our school. If you are a college student, then please check first with your internship coordinator to determine credit eligibility.

Internship opportunities include working with children ages 3 - 5 during the hours of 9 - 5 pm M - F. We also run a Spanish immersion summer camp with a focus on arts & crafts, nature, and cooking.

Our diverse staff brings a variety of backgrounds and experience to the classroom and overall Escuelita community. We are proud to have professional native Spanish speakers present in all of our classrooms, however this alone does not ensure a successful language immersion experience. Escuelita also strives to bring creative individuals who together, as a team, develop an enriching educational experience for each of our students.

If you think you would be an asset to our teaching team please submit your resume along with the employment application to our Director. From time to time we do need substitute teachers for both our morning and afternoon programs and this is a good way to become familiar with our unique teaching philosophy.

We are always looking for highly-qualified, enthusiastic, and experienced teachers!

If you're interested or need more information, do not hesitate to e-mail contactanos@laescuelitapgh.org with your resume and letter of intent!

La Escuelita Arcoiris is a mission driven non-profit organization. We expect all of our employees to recognize the importance of our vision and philosophy as well as contribute to the overall success of the organization.

Services in employment are provided in non-discriminatory manner, without regard to race, sex, color, national origin, ancestry, religious creed, and age.

If you are interested on serving as a Member on our Board of Directors, please contact Ellen Tafel (admin@laescuelitapgh.org) with your resume and letter of intent.

Somos Escuelita means...

Olga Gonzalez, one of our Colibri teachers, shares what 'Somos Escuelita' means to her.

We are a community, and the work we do here is inspired by that. At La Escuelita, people who come from different countries and cultures work together with mutual trust, respect, and tolerance for each other.
